Population 11

Jungle Entertainment for Stan

From the director of Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Hacks, Population 11 is a 12-part dark comedy series scheduled for release on Stan. Starring Superstore’s Ben Feldman as Andy, the series follows an American man who travels to a tiny Australian town of only 12 residents, searching for his missing (and estranged) father.

Filmed in Western Australia’s Kimberley Region and inspired by true events, the series promises to deliver twists and turns in a town full of secrets.

The series also boasts an impressive ensemble cast of Australian talent, including rising star Perry Mooney and TV mainstays Stephen Curry, Katrina Milosevic, Steve Le Marquand and Pippa Grandison, among others.

A powerful love letter to mothers and daughters, Shayda is a new feature film that premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award, and is now headed back home to screen as part of the Melbourne International Film Festival's opening night gala!

Directed by Noora Niasari, the film follows Shayda, an Iranian woman who seeks refuge in an Australian women's shelter, while trying to forge an independent life for herself and her daughter. With major investment from Screen Australia in association with The 51 Fund in addition to support from MIFF's Premiere Fund, Shayda has found critical success and was released in Australia by Madman Entertainment in October 2023.

Hitting international screens in March 2024, the film has been selected as the Australian entry in the Best International Feature Film category for the upcoming 96th Academy Awards.
